Encouraging news from China regarding its growing demand for imported metallurgical and thermal coal couldn't arrive at a better moment for Canadian and U.S. producers.In 2009 alone, China expects to import more than 20 million tonnes of metallurgical coal. Historically the country has taken 2.0 to 3.0 million tonnes per year total from the international market.
