New port at Barrquilla could handle cape size cargoes

A new 170 million deep water port could be constructed at Barrquilla,sources tell Coal Americas.If the project is funded,construction will begin in 2007,with commercial operations beginning in 2009.The port would have the capacity to handle 8.0 million tonnes/year of coal and accommodate cape size cargoes.
