China issues first batch of met coke export licenses but prices expected to remain high

China issued the first batch of metallurgical coke export licenses for 2008 covering 9.62 million tonnes.It would appear that China's met coke export level will mirror that of 2007,roughly totaling 14 million tonnes.There had been some concern that the country might drastically reduce exports this year in an effort to keep more product available for the domestic market.
