摘要

The occurrence of a large earthquake often offers thepossibility to constrain fault geometry and related rupturecharacteristics (kinematics and slip distribution) and pro-vides an opportunity to collect a wealth of seismological,geodetic, and tectonic data. The 2003 Zemmouri earthquakeoccurred along the eastern coastline of Algiers (Algeria) andenhanced our understanding of coastal and active tectonicsin this section of the Africa-Eurasia plate boundary.
