Some Aspects of the Feeding and Behavior of Larvae of the Barents Sea Capelin Mallotus villosus villosus (Salmoniformes, Osmeridae) in Experimental Conditions

The results of experimental investigations on the feeding and behavior of larvae of the Barents Sea capelin Mallotus villosus villosus during their transition to exogenous feeding are presented. Data concerning the passage duration of nauplii of Anemia salina along the intestine, feeding intensity, the portion of feeding larvae, swimming speed, sinking speed of non-feeding individuals, distances of responses and escape, as well as certain features of the passage of food through the intestines are given.
