Comparative analysis of the biochemical composition of gonads in bream Abramis brama (Cyprinidae) from different prespawning aggregations

The results of two-year studies of bream Abramis brama reproductive aggregations at spawning grounds of one of the rivers emptying into the Rybinsk reservoir are presented. Total biochemical and lipid class composition of ovaries were analyzed in twoprespawning bream aggregations. One of them represents fish from the river mouth; and the other, fish migrating upstream for spawning. Presented data testify to the different states of readiness for spawning in fish from the two aggregations.
