I was surprised to see a technique guide describing the supercharged end-to-side nerve repair ("Supercharged End-to-Side Anterior Interosseous to Ulnar Motor Nerve Transfer for Intrinsic Musculature Re-innervation"1) published in the October issue of the Journal of Hand Surgery. I introduced this concept (referring to it as a reverse end-to-side nerve repair to emphasize the reversal of the normal donor and recipient nerves from a standard end-to-side nerve repair) in 2005,2 using a rodent nerve repair model.
