Companion animal BiiE wounds pose a notable health care concern, with an incidence of 2 million cases per year, and they account for approximately 300,000 emergency department visits annually.1'2 Most of these wounds are due to cat and dog bites, making up approximately 95% of all animal bite wounds, with considerable literature available regarding management of these wounds. Little literature exists, however, regarding the treatment of domestic avian wounds.
