PET Monitoring of Clear Cell Sarcoma of Tendons and Aponeuroses

Clear cell sarcoma of tendons and aponeuroses is a rare soft tissue sarcoma easily mistaken for metastatic malignant melanoma because of their histochemical and ultrastructural similarities. Like melanoma, the former neoplasm exhibits an aggressive behavior with a high propensity for local recurrences and lymphatic and hematogeneous dissemination. The authors present 2 cases of such an uncommon but highly malignant lesion with great impact of posttherapeutic evaluation by F-18 FDG PET/CT.
