F-18 FDG PET/CT Imaging of Anal Canal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

摘要

Squamous cell carcinoma of the anal canal is an uncommon malignancy of the gastrointestinal tract predominantly encountered in a patient population with human papillomavirus and human immunodeficiency virus infection. Imaging and staging of this neoplasm is best evaluated with F-18 FDG PET/CT. The authors present 2 cases of anal cancer with PET/CT demonstration of an expected pattern of nodal metastasis in the first patient and atypical musculoskeletal dissemination in the second patient.
