What do you do if there is not always a consultant available to run a particular clinic? Who sees these patients and how can a service continue to run?The department of sexual health at Royal Hampshire Count)' Hospital in Winchester (see "Background" Box) was faced with this kind of situation just as I finished qualifying as an independent prescriber in 2007.
