Status reports of the 5 subcommittees of the ISFRI

At the May 2014 Congress, it was discussed that existing protocols tend to fall into two basic categories: (1) technical protocols, specifying equipment, imaging methods, and acquisition parameters, and (2) workflow protocols, which primarily address the many important pre-imaging and post-imaging tasks and considerations. We agreed that our group should not develop a protocol that is too technically specific; rather, it would be more useful to describe general principles and provide guidance (for example, in the form of a flow chart) for making decisions about the appropriate protocol to use for a given type of case, with consideration for the potential range of available technical capabilities and potential differences in the information required in different jurisdictions.
