Efficacy of some botanicals against Fusarium udum causing wilt in pigeonpea

Efficacy of some botanicals against Fusarium udum was tested in laboratory. The results indicated that the extracts of Ocimum sanctum, Eucalyptus spp. and Nerium indicum completely inhibited the growth of fungus on agar as well as potato dextrose broth. The growth of F. udum was inhibited by 80, 75 and 71% with extract of Azardirachta indica, Flax lini and Hibiscus rosasinensis, respectively. The extract of Vitex nigundo, Sorghum bicolor, Piper nigrum, Vinca rosea and Zea mays were also effective andinhibited the growth of F. udum by 60, 60, 60, 63 and 62%, respectively.
