My good friend and colleague Dr. Marcia Van Riper is an associate professor at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where she holds joint appointments in the School of Nursing (SON) and the Carolina Center for Genome Sciences. She also chairs one of our three divisions in the SON, Family Nursing, and holds an adjunct appointment at Duke University. In addition to her nursing degrees (includ-ingaPhD from the University ofWisconsin-Madison), she has an MA in bioethics from Case Western Reserve University.
