Study of Problems of Evolutionary Physiology in St.Petersburg State University

摘要

Formation of evolutionary physiology in St.Petersburg University is a long and not always uniform process.It is worth starting to consider it from that the issue of significance of the evolutionary principle in physiological investigations was posed by I.M.Sechenov when he was teaching at the Department of Physiology (1876-1888) of Petersburg University.In his work "Elements of the Thought" published in 1878 he particularly emphasized importance of historical,evolutionary approach to analysis of complex physiological and psychic processes.
