Grigorii Viktorovich Gershuni was born on July 21 (or 22),1905,in Minsk in the family of a physician.In 1922,G.V.graduated from secondary school and was admitted in the same year to Medical Faculty of Belorussian University.In 1923,G.V.was transferred to the second year of the 1st Leningrad Medical School,from which he graduated in 1927.Since autumn of 1924 G.V.Gershuni started working at Department of Physiology under supervision of Academician L.A.Orbeli and carried out several studies on neuromuscular physiology.He continued this investigation in postgrad-uateship of the same Department (he was a postgraduate from 1927),which he completed in 1930.
