The problem of ignition in the conditions of nonideal contact between liquid fuel and a single metallic particle heated to high temperatures is numerically solved. A gas-phase ignition model is created with regard to the heat-and-mass transfer processes in the gas region near the ignition source and the layer separating the particle and the fuel. The scale of the impact of the heat source surface roughness upon the ignition characteristics in a hot particle—liquid fuel—oxidant system is determined.
