The performance of induced counter-flow mechanical cooling tower is studied experimentally by using two new types of film packing. These packings are corrugated and made from PVC reinforced by fiber glass. Two different arrangements of packing are used in this tower, vertically and horizontally. The tower characteristic ratio is determined by correlation of experimental results in a wide range of L/G ratio from 0.2 to 4. It is concluded that the performance of the cooling tower is affected by the type of arrangement of the packing. In this work, tower with vertical corrugated packing (VCP) has shown higher efficiency than the horizontal corrugated packing (HCP).
