摘要

An unconscious 67-year-old male patient is brought into the emergency department after being found face down on the sidewalk outside of the local mall. During the initial assessment, an unknown medical device is found on the patient's waist. An ED nurse was able to identify it as an insulin pump. After discovering the identity of the patient, it was determined that he has never been seen in the hospital before, and therefore no record of his medical history, medications, and specifically his insulin management are available.
