Although PA may decrease pharmaceutical product costs, many concerns remain about the effectiveness of PA in controlling medical costs, particularly for psychiatric conditions. While PA has effectively limited access to certain higher-cost drugs, little is known about its effects on medical practice and patient outcomes.
