Professor Mitsuru Hashida: His outstanding achievements in drug delivery research

It is a great pleasure for me, as the guest editor, to introduce this special issue of the Journal of Drug Targeting in recognition of Professor Mitsuru Hashida who is the 2012 recipient of the journals Life-time Achievement Award. Professor Mitsuru Hashida obtained his bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyoto University, in 1974. He studied in Professor Hitoshi Sezaki's lab for 6 years during his undergraduate and graduate courses. He received his Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical sciences for work involving the development of novel emulsions for antitumor drug delivery from Kyoto University in 1979.
