The imports of pule aod jute products from Bangladesh have recorded considerable growth during April- September, compared to corresponding period last year. As ior imports from Bangladesh in September, tbe total quantity was 26,226 tomic. valued at Rs 27,90 crore, representing a rise by 828% in terms of quantity and by 580%, in value tenns, compared to September 2006 (2,826 tonne valued at Rs 4.1 crore). Total import of raw Jute during April-September was 99,065 tonne, worth Rs 10.79 crore, higher by 90% in temis of quantity and 28% in terms of value, compared to April- September 2006 when quantity was 52,270 torme valued at Rs 84.37 crore.
