Coal crunch triggers power cut in state

The state witnessed long hours of power cuts as coal supply to West Bengal Power Development Corporation Ltd (WBPDCL) declined by almost 40% over the past serveral days. With demand touching 5,161 mw during evening peak the state experienced a shortfall of 635 mw.
