摘要

Genetic diversity in 70 genotypes of G. hirsutum assessed using Mahalanobis D2 statistic indicated considerable diversity in the material. The 70 genotypes were grouped into 15 clusters. The distribution of genotypes indicated that the geographical diversity and genetic diversity were not related and there were forces other than geographical separation which were responsible for diversity. The intra- and inter-cluster distances revealed that inter-cluster distance values were greater than intra-cluster distance values.
