Clinical efficacy of two cardiac troponin I assays.

The analytical and clinical performance of the Abbott ARCHITECT cardiac troponin I (cTnl) assay was assessed using the ARCHITECT i1000_SR (Abbott Laboratory, Abbott Park, IL, USA). The ARCHITECT i1000_SR is a new chemiluminescence immunoassay system designed for small to medium volume laboratories, or as a back-up system to the higher throughput ARCHITECT /2000//2000_SR systems that utilize the same chemiluminescent method, reagents, sample racks, disposables, and software. The Abbott ARCHITECT STAT cTnl assay is a 2-step chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay for the detection of cTnl in human serum or plasma. The ARCHITECT STAT cTnl assay uses three murine monoclonal antibodies directed against the cTnl molecule. Two antibodies function as capture antibodies and coat the paramagnetic microparticles; the third antibody is acridinium-labeled (1).
