Introduction to the International Conference on Complexity in Acute Illness 2013 meeting abstracts

The 12th annual International Conference on Complexity in Acute Illness (ICCAI) organized by the Society for Complex Acute Illness (SCAI) was held in Budapest, Hungary from August 8 to 11,2013. Every year, this meeting brings together physicians, basic scientists, mathematicians, computer scientists, physicists, and engineers united with a passion of applying complexity science and advanced bedside monitoring to care for the critically ill patients. The setting is rather informal, but the meeting has a practical workshop flavor with the goal of significantly impacting the critical care community.
