This paper reports on the results of a microbiological assessment of mung beans (Vigna radiata) being marketed in Germany. The evaluation was carried out according to regulatory standards. Pathogenic contaminants found in the sprouts included Pseudomonas, Escherichia coli and other Enterobacteriaceae. No Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes were found.
