My Father,Stan MeMillen was a missionary. Although he and my mother translated the New Testament into a previously unwritten Guatemalan Mayan dialect (Uspanteco), provided basic healthcare services, and conducted literacy classes, my father defied the image of a Bible-thumping missionary. Instead, the motorcycle was his vehicle of ministry (B. McMillen, personal communication, March 15, 2008).
