Christine was 14 years old when she got pregnant for the first time. She wanted to keep her baby, but her.opinion was ignored. Her mother took her to an abortion clinic. Two additional abortions followed in her teens and twenties. Christine tried for decades to reconcile her upbringing in a Christian home with what her mother had made her do. Only when Christine attended a postabortion support group 12 years after her first abortion did she learn to forgive herself. She also was able to let go of her anger and bitterness toward her mother.
