Evaluation of Resource Estimation Models Specific to Object-Oriented Software

The estimation of resource expenditure (e.g., effort, schedule) is an essential project management activity. There are number of models available for estimating object oriented systems. These models estimate size, cost and schedule of the software projects. Some of these models are based on the traditional estimation models, some are specifically developed for object-oriented systems and some can be applied equally well to traditional as well as object-oriented systems. This paper surveys, systematically compare and assess alternative estimation models developed specifically for object oriented software.
