Study and Analysis of Cartoon Style Rendering Algorithms

In recent years researchers have investigated a variety of techniques in non-photorealistic rendering (NPR) to imitate the style of artists. This paper presents the results of our investigation of cartoon style rendering. We have first introduced non-photorealistic rendering (NPR), various kinds of NPR techniques and then we have studied, implemented and compared four cartoon rendering algorithms in terms of time and space utilization, in this paper. We have explained the difference between the images produced by various algorithms by rendering the same image. We have also explored the algorithm to enhance the image produced by eel-shading algorithm by adding crease lines.
