With progressive advances in technology, evaluation of the safety and possible advantage of microincision cataract surgery over conventional techniques must be done before the former can be accepted as routine procedure. The article by Berdahl et al. evaluating the 2.2 mm incision using the OZil torsional handpiece with the Infiniti vision system (Alcon) is very welcome.
