Bilateral endophthalmitis after simultaneous bilateral cataract surgery

I congratulate Puvanachandra and Humphry1 on their recent article about a patient who experienced bilateral endophthalmitis after simultaneous bilateral cataract surgery (SBCS) and achieved excellent visual outcome bilaterally after their astute management. The article raises a number of issues of concern to those of us who practice SBCS, as well as to those who do not.
