Management of post-LASIK recurrent epithelial ingrowth with flap melting using annular amniotic membrane graft.

Epithelial ingrowth after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) is reported to occur in 0% to 20% of patients. If progressive, it can induce significant astigmatism, melting of the overlying flap, and loss of corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA). We report a case of recurrent epithelial ingrowth reaching the visual axis and associated with flap melting that had a successful outcome following flap lifting, alcohol-assisted epithelial scrapping, flap repositioning, and annular amniotic membrane graft.
