Clinical Significance of HER2-Positive and Triple-Negative Status in Small (<= 1 cm) Node-Negative Breast Cancer

Controversies exist regarding clinical significance of HER2-positive (HER2(+)) and triple-negative (TN) status in patients with small-node-negative tumors. We examined 656 patients with small (<= 1 cm) node-negative tumors, and found that TN, but not HER2(+) status, was associated with worse recurrence-free survival (RFS).
