Young's (2008) review of the legal duty of care raises several important issues. A resident of the UK, it is predictable that he would reference cases from the UK judicial system and policies of that government. Although much of the legal system in the USA has its origins in the British legal system, there are differences in function and the development of case law. The cases and law as discussed in his review may not have counterparts within law in the USA. Nevertheless, potential differences do not detract from the importance or application of some of the basic assertions in the review.
