Upper extremity biomechanics: Are we closing the gap? Proceedings of the 5th meeting of the International Shoulder Group

摘要

One of the activities of the International Shoulder Group (ISG) is the organization of a bi-annual meeting on upper extremity biomechanics. In August 2004, this meeting was held in Estoril, Portugal, hosted by the Faculty of Human Kinetics, Technical University of Lisbon. The meeting was attended by about 50 people, from 14 different countries, and comprised a mix of young and experienced researchers as well as those active in modeling and those working in more applied settings. This special issue reflects that mix quite well and is as such typical for what the ISG wants to achieve: interaction between researchers active in different fields and with different levels of experience.
