Novel N-substituted amino-4-melthylsulfanyl-2-pyridones and deazapurine analogues from ketene dithioacetals

A novel synthesis of N-substituted amino-4-methylsulfanyl-2-pyridones and deazapurine analogues via the reaction of ketene dithioacetals with substituted semi- and thio-semicarbazide derivatives is reported and the synthetic potential of the method is demonstrated. [References: 5]
