A 29-year-old white woman with a psychotic mixed state was hospitalized for a severe suicide attempt by ammoniac detergent ingestion. After a period spent in the emergency unit, she was transferred to our psychiatric ward as soon as her somatic condition was stabilized, and a total parenteral nutrition was started.
