Nanotechnology is clearly one of today's "hot" topics,in terms of research activity and in the popular literature.A search of available books on the subject will reveal many research-level treatments and non-technical popularizations,but relatively few texts to fill the gap between them.The stated aim of this book is to bridge that gap,serving as an advanced undergraduate-level textbook and as an entry point for workers in related sciences interested in greater involvement in the field.
