Patient-level data provide additional insight for tigecycline all-cause mortality meta-analysis

Prasad and colleagues [1] have now published the fifth study-level meta-analysis on tigecycline all-cause mortality that replicates initial analyses performed by Pfizer Inc [2]. Patient-level data have provided additional helpful information in the assessment of this clinical issue [3]. Pfizer has disclosed the patient-level analyses to regulatory agencies and it was the basis for an update to the US prescribing information in July 2010 [4]
