Over the past 60 years, the evils of the Nazi occupation of Europe (including the involvement of physicians, and particularly neuropsychiatrists, in the medicalization of the horrors ) have been well chronicled, including 2 articles in the Journal of Child Neurology. However, there was at least 1 story yet to be told: the Jewish "hidden children" of Belgium, who were saved from the Nazi occupiers by Andree Geulen and the Comite de Defense des Juifs (Belgian Committee for the Defense of the Jews). One of those children was Charles Hilsberg, who, following the end of World War II, was able to immigrate to Israel and took the name Shaul Harel.
