摘要

The Commission on Classification and Terminology of the epileptic syndromes and epilepsies by the International League against Epilepsy rigidly segregated childhood epilepsy syndromes with electroencephalographic occipital paroxysms into 2 unique syndromes with different particular predominant epileptic manifestations: the early onset (Panayiotopoulos type) with prolonged infrequent, nocturnal seizures, which are marked by eye deviation and ictal vomiting and a late onset (Gastaut type) with short diurnal frequent seizures accompanied with ictal visual perturbations and headaches.
