摘要

Thoracoabdominal aortic surgery has become a viable option for treatment of life-threatening diseases of the aorta including aortic dissection and aortic aneurysms. Nonetheless, there remain significant perioperative complications arising primarily from ischemic injury affecting the spinal cord, the heart, the gut, and the kidneys. An unusual case of a fatal subarachnoid hemorrhage in a patient having thoracoabdominal surgery with use of deep hypothermic circulatory arrest (DHCA) and retrograde cerebral perfusion (RCP) is presented.
