ArcelorMittal (Spain) to restart Sestao plant; construction of coke battery in Gijon postponed

ArcelorMittal (Spain) plans to restart its 1.8 mt plant in Sestao that has been idle since November 2011 in June. A source in the company says the decision is due to some recovery in demand for certain niche products from this plant. Sestao production is planned at 800,000 tpy (over 40% of capacity) with one electrical furnace and one continuos caster running.
