India’s Tata Steel inaugurates Phase I of Kalinganagar Greenfield Project

On November 18, India’s Tata Steel held the completion ceremony of Kalinganagar’s Phase I in Odisha,the company said in its press release. Within the phase, the greenfield plant was constructed and equippedwith a 1.5 million tpy coking plant, a 5.75 million tpy sinter plant, a 3 million tpy BF, a 3 million tpy BOF shopand a 3 million tpy hot strip mill. The investments are estimated at INR 220 billion (about $3.32 billion).
