CAN FEE-SHIFTION SAVE HOME OWNERS?

In 2012,1 participated in the "Closing the Gap" panel at the RIA's 67th Annual Leadership Summit and Industry Expo in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, during which I told a story about a couple who moved to Florida and could not get hurricane coverage. The sad but true update to this anecdote is that nothing much has changed. I frequently see insurance policies that provide no coverage for wind, hail, water or mold in Florida. The good news is that they cover volcanoes — but as you can imagine, we don't have many volcano insurance claims in the state of Florida.
