摘要

Going into the unknown is how you expand the known. To expand the known, it is important to acquire as much critical incident data (CID) — who, what, when, where, how — as possible for every forensic incident restoration project. At the starting point, all you know is that an elderly man who lived with his brother passed away from natural causes. Acquiring CID helps determine that the men shared a room and a bed. Authorities were not notified that the man had expired until one month had passed. This is why CID and a proper site assessment are very important steps in forensic restoration.
