This article details the process involved in removing all visible blood, other potentially infectious materials (OPIM) and/ or contaminated material from the operation zone. It is important to know that this section is only applied in the removal of primary contaminants visible and cannot be classified as an absolute method of sanitizing or decontamination in accordance with OSHA standards regarding "Universal Precautions" related to clear bodily fluids classified under OPIM. Clear bodily fluids, according to OSHA 1910.1030, are assumed to be present, especially in a large loss situation atomized through gun blast.
