A Disinfectant Primer — Part 2

This past June C&R began a series of articles exploring the science and technology of disinfectants and sanitizers, or biocides in general. This month we'll review the question, "Is there really a 'green or environmentally preferable, safe and effective disinfectant? The question arose first from a university facilities director in 2008 when we were at the University of Maryland for the CIRI science symposium. Maryland, like many universities and colleges, had been going "green" and becoming environmentally responsible, especially for procurement and building and facilities maintenance.
